Xash3DS
A port of Xash3D-FWGS for the Nintendo 3DS

v0.2 Changelog:

• Fixed dynamic lights (flashlight works now)
• Enabled support for higher resolution textures for the O3DS (image is now less blurry)

WARNING: Autosaves are not enabled, use the onscreen keyboard for quick saves.

I personally would have like to see a good mp3/flac player which can scrobble music to last.fm and a GBA emulator would be pretty cool too so I don't have to buy a flashcard for my SP.

First of all; Hi!, I'm new to GBAtemp and was mostly a lurker every once in a while.

So to begin with this topic, the reason for me starting it is that I want more streetpasses. But because of the dwindling amount of 3DS users and the death of spotpass in 2018 and in turn PiPass/HomePass, this is quite difficult.
My goal with this post is to possibly reverse engineer how either:

1. Streetpass works locally
2. or how Spotpass servers used to work.

I'm installing Homebrew on my (Old) 3DS XL...
running 11.14.0-46U (I'm in the United States)...
also I'm very new to this.

(Problem):

Everything Installed correctly (as it said) and I do have boot.3dsx and...
boot.firm at the root of the SD Card I have the payload.bin downloaded and in...
the correct place I just can get past the Grey + Red Screen on my 3DS and...
yes I do have Luma installed.

Can anyone help?

I am using the 3ds hacks guide website to install boot9strap on my 2DS XL (This is my first time jail-breaking). I have put all the files in the right folders a but when I scan the QR Code I get an error saying:

An error has occured.
Please save your data in any software currently in use and restart the system.

With the internet abuzz with news of a native Windows port of Super Mario 64, I was curious as to whether the experts think there is a path for porting it to the 3DS as well. The need is much lower thanks to @MasterFeizz but a native port would still be amazing. I suppose one would also need a tool to extract assets from a ROM to avoid copyright issues.

I installed some updates and DLCs in latest version of Citra (canary 1928)
And DLCs are definitely NOT detected
I'm not sure if updates are correctly detected
Cause I dont know how to check the version of a game which citra is currently running

I've checked official website of citra
Only found how to dump and install stuff

Does anyone know something about this?

I am trying to play Rampage on my New 3DS. I downloaded the Retroarch CIA pack and installed the libretro MAME 2003 core, and used it to open the zip archive containing the arcade ROMs. It suggested the MAME 2003 0.78 core. The game’s title screen comes up fairly quickly and I can use SELECT to add credits and START to begin the game, but the frame rate is only around 20 FPS, very slow and jerky, and the audio is slowed down, time stretched and stutters. Hey everyone! I know citra has debugging features but there doesn't really seem to be much information about them online, I'm looking to be able to scan and edit the memory values in games (like how Cheat Engine, Gameshark cheat search, etc. work) I couldn't find any info about if this exists and where to find it, any info is helpful!

Hey GBAtemp,
I made a web app that lets you watch live Twitch streams with the New 3DS browser! (Now working again, December 25th 2017!)

Not all streams work as some of them are only available in resolutions higher than the N3DS browser can handle (over 854x480) but most do, like TwitchPlaysPokemon.

There might still be a couple of bugs and the UI needs redoing but it works pretty well.

You don't even need a homebrew-compatible New 3DS to use it, as it runs entirely in the browser!...

Trying to play SotN, according to the compatibility list I should be using 1001. The problem is that retroarch won't recognize the bios.

I've tried:
1. Putting the file in /cores/system
2. Putting the file in /system
3. Putting the file outside the retroarch directory and changing the bios directory in the settings.

When I navigate the bios directory to each folder, it says it can't find any files. The bios setting only lets me choose auto or HLE.

I'm certain I'm using the right bios file...

This is a 3DS port of Rubberduckycooly's decompilation of the mobile versions of Sonic 1 and 2.

On a New 3DS they run at full speed almost all of the time outside of special stages.
Special stages are playable, but run at a low frame rate.
On an old 3DS the games are too slow to be enjoyable.
